Water Quality Modeling

Dr. Jeong is the main developer of the APEX model. Dr. Jeong has been conducting research in the area of eco-hydrologic modeling with an emphasis on understanding environmental consequences of anthropogenic and climatic alterations. During his tenure at Texas A&M, he has published over 100 scientific papers, including 75 refereed journal articles and book chapters. His peer-reviewed research has been cited in 1,047 publications (Google Scholar Citations). Since 2015, he has obtained $2.9 million dollars of research grants as a PI or Co-PI, from federal/state/local governments and private entities including USDA NIFA/NRCS/ARS, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), City of Austin, Bureau of Land Management, Rural Development Administration of South Korea, NASA, and the Bayer Company (formerly Monsanto). Dr. Jeong is an Associate Editor for multiple journals including Sustainability, Journal of Environmental Quality, and Journal of the Korean Society of Hazard Mitigation. He is a Review Editor for Frontiers in Water and serves on the Editorial Advisory Committee of the Asia-Pacific Science Bulletin. Dr. Jeong has supervised 10 graduate (Ph.D., and M.S.) students as a co-Chair or Graduate Committee member at Texas A&M University to date and regularly teaches professional training courses and workshops.
