Title – Dveloping an Assessment of Potential Reduction in Nitrate Leaching

Activities –

1. Work is underway to enhance EPIC’s capabilities for simulating winter cover crops as a means of reducing nitrate leaching.
2. Testing the current EPIC with data from several sites in MD that represent a range in soils and cover crop varieties.
3. Modify EPIC to produce realistic estimates of crop growth, water use, N uptake, and N leaching.
