Blackland Research Center and the Center for Water in the Humid Tropics of Latin America and the Caribe (CATHALAC) are leading a multi-institution team to submit a proposal to develop a potential groundwater map of the nation of Panama.

Dr. Gurjinder Baath, a new faculty member at Blackland Research and Extension Center, is working with IBM to develop a phone app to help farmers make short-term management decisions based on predicted weather and other factors.
