On November 5, 2015, NRCS’s CEAP modeling team and NASS were presented a prestigious 2015 Secretary of Agriculture’s Honor Award, now known as the Abraham Lincoln Honor Award. The award, under the category “Protecting Natural Resources,” was given for collective overall efforts and impacts coming from CEAP-Cropland assessments and particularly for the work in the Chesapeake Bay area. The award was specifically for “excellence in data collection and analysis to help further plan conservation funding for the Chesapeake Bay region.” USDA held the recognition ceremony in the Thomas Jefferson Auditorium in USDA’s South Building on Independence Avenue in Washington, D.C.
